I think I bought exactly a type you may like. I bought it at the Place furniture on 110- it was exactly what we wanted, but I had heard horror stories about the store...well, I took my chances and bought it from there- it took THREE months to arrive...I don't have patience for that!

OMG.. THE PLACE.. we had seriously one of the worst experiences ever in history. It is so long to type. Quick version: we spent hours there, chose $5k in furniture, left a $2k deposit. They told us it would be shipped in 3 weeks. Long story short, they gave us the run around 'yea the furniture is on the truck from our warehouse in Bklyn, I am looking at it right now..' We heard that line for 2 weeks straight. Finally after 7 weeks, they finally admitted they never had our furniture, and maybe they sold it in their clearance center... I stormed in there, got our deposit back, and proceeded to write complaint letters to BBB.com, complaints.com, ripoffreport.com and anyone else you can think of. They are nothing but unprofessional, and a nightmare. They have nice stuff, but the staff there, is a horror. DONT GO THERE.....

In any event, we got our stuff at ROOMS TO GO. They are not in NY, but you can order online. We were very happy with what we bought. Here is a pic

Thanks. we actually went in person, but everything is pretty good quality, I would just review their return policy... I think you have 30 days....

We find great buys at JCPennys. You can find things for a few 100 bucks. We bought so many things from there already.

I went to the JC Penney in Lake Grove and Roosevelt field.
