Envelope Addressing Etiquette

Envelope Addressing Etiquette

Does it really matter if I “computer generate” addressing the invitation envelopes? I know that sometimes guests might take it personal if they are not hand written.

What are you all doing as far as addressing your invitations? Please let me know your intake on this matter.

Thanks!!

I will most likely do computer calligraphy, not hand calligraphy-too expensive

i was going to do computer labeling but my mom & FMIL both almost fainted when i said that. i tried to explain that now a days using the computer is excepted. my mom said that using a computer for sweet 16 invitations is fine but not for a wedding. FMIL reminded me that at work all envelopes get printed by a computer. so i lost this argument.

I will definitely be using the computer. I see more and more brides doing it. Just think it's faster and your hand is less likely to cramp.

you can download fonts and do them yourself or you can send the envelopes out to have them done for computer caligraphy, there is a site inkspun.com that does this and its like 69 cents per envelope compared to anywhere from $1 to $2 per envelope for hand caligraphy

Im going to be using computer caligraphy.... You can get programs that you wouldnt know the difference, plus I dont wanna spend money on something someone will definetly toss

I used clear labels I printed off the computer. So easy! Would have taken too long otherwise.
It looked fine and nobody complained.

i think computer caligraphy is just fine. etiquette can sometimes be out dated or just not condusive to your style or budget. my advice is to pick and choose what works best for you. i'm not necessarily doing hand caligraphy, FH's mother has really nice handwriting so she is just going to address the evelopes in gold pen.

i took calligraphy in high school and college, but i probably will just use the computer, it'd take way to long for me to do everything by hand. unless FH will pay me to do it, i'm not lol
