Re: envelope wording..

I broke out the etiquette book and here's what it said:

Situation: Husband and Wife (Wife had professional title)

Inner Envelope: Dr. Smith and Mr. Smith

Outer Envelope: Dr. Anita Smith
Mr. Thomas Smith
(wife's name and title above husband's)

This is per 'The Ultimate Guide to Planning the Perfect Wedding'

Ugh!!! What a pain in the neck, but I HTH!

Re: envelope wording..

Mrs. Anita Smith and Dr. John Smith

Re: envelope wording..

If the husband is the professional then it's:

Dr. and Mrs. John Smith

ETA: And if you really want to be technical, whenever there is a 'Dr.' you're supposed to write out 'Doctor'

So.............

Doctor and Mrs. John Smith

Edited again for being stupid and spelling 'Doctor', 'Docter'

I am serious, but I really don't think it's necessary. I think that if you want to be super etiquette that you would then spell out 'Doctor'. I know for my STD I put Dr.

i am so over etiquette!!! LOL

how bout this i didnt realize that i abreviated the states on the list i gave my calligrapher.. so its says for example great neck, NY instead of Great Neck, New York

so i am looking over the proofs i should change all of them to spell out the state right?

Re: envelope wording..

yes, you should spell out the names of states and streets, routes, etc

i.e. New York
Main Street
Route 18
Apartment 3
Post Office Box 90
