I never was however lately I find myself envying others and I hate it! I'm going through a 'need to find my true meaning in life' stage. Was just curious if I am alone....

Re: Envy
I can be and I hate it. I think it stems from growing up with upper middle class kids when I was a regular kid.

Re: Envy
No I don't think so. I can admire what another has without regreting what I have.

Re: Envy
I was when I was younger, but I'm a more confident person now and I realize that I don't really need to envy others because most people are just as screwed up as me, if not more, so there's nothing to be envious of!

Re: Envy
I think it depends upon what it is. I definitely think that if I do envy someone else, it's because of my own lack of self confidence or my own poor judgement. Buy I wouldn't consider myself an envious person. Just someone who sometimes envies others. Did that make any sense?

Re: Envy
No, I'm definetly NOT an envious person. I may admire other people's accomplishments and things but I don't covet what they have.

Re: Envy
I think sometimes you cannot help to envy- to want what others have or to be jealous- it's very difficult- but I think you just need to think about what you have in your life that makes you blessed and realize that everyone is blessed in different ways- that's what I do... because sometimes I can be envious of material things but then I realize in the family and love department I have WAY more than a lot of people..

Re: Envy
I am genuinely happy for others and it's not an evil envy that I feel towards a person or thing. I was never envious before and now that I find myself being envious sometimes it really drives me crazy!

I am not generally, but I find myself being a bit envious of younger brides who have time on their side to do everything they want to do......

Re: Envy
I'm not but I think that's because I'm very content with the point where I am in life. So much so that I'm able to just be happy for other people's successes in their own lives.
5 years ago, I'm not sure if I would have been able to say the same thing. It's hard not to envy people that have what you want. Sadly, that's human nature. But I think that envy stems from your own disappointments in yourself (or in my case way back when: crappy job, failed relationship...etc., etc.) and the only way to get rid of it is to fix the things within youself that can be fixed and accept some of the things that you can never change and let go of past mistakes.

Re: Envy
Not in the least, I always tend to have an attitude of I am happy when good things happen for good people. You always get what is due you, whether its good or bad.

Re: Envy
I can be at times...I HATE IT! I try to reason with myself, but it just keeps on happening. I'm not really a person who goes with out and I work VERY hard for eveything I have an truly appreaciate it...but the envy pops up here and there!
