EP question

I don't know if anyone could help- but I figured it's worth a shot. Our engagement party is coming up, we're having a dilemma about the food. It's mostly Italian- my Mom insists that we get a turkey & ham to have as extra in case someone doesn't like the other stuff we have. But I'm thinking then we have to cater to everyones taste. Some of my friends are vegetarian- and I don't know if they'll like what we have. Basically I'm wondering if we should just get the extra. It's coming from a friend and not costing much.

Re: EP question

That really depends on the other food on your menu. Generally pasta/ziti is a crowd pleaser and works for vegetarians and everyone else. I personally love baked ham - especially since it's such a pain to make for myself. I myself am not a big turkey eater so I'd skip that particular entree in the buffet....

If you're offering a pretty wide variety of dishes that include no-meat and no-seafood options (the two biggest food issues), you should be fine, even without the ham & turkey.

I had a sprial ham at my party with Italian food. Eggplant parm is usually a big crowd pleaser, and also perfect for non-meat eaters. I am not sure how many people you have coming. We had 40 and the ham went. People eat everything actually.

Re: EP question

My mom always has baked ziti (at least one without meat for vegetarians) and sausage and peppers (easy to make) - (and my moms not italian) and it always goes over well with salads:green, potato, macaroni...and sometimes chicken...but my mother ALWAYS has a ham on backup...

everyone usually eats ziti...
