I swear this is going to make me go crazier than the wedding planning!!!
After discussion after discussion, it is a toss up between having the eparty at my house or at a location. Which leaves me back where I started. It all depends on price. Is there anywhere in Long Island or Queens that would do an affair for under $30 pp? I don't need a cocktail hour, just passing of light hors d'ouevres, simple menu buffet style is fine and open bar. Am I dreaming that this possible? Would restaurants be best? And are there restaurants that allow music brought in from outside? I would prefer an evening affair. But at this point, if it was on a Monday morning it would be fine by me. I just want this part of the planning for this party to be done with already!

I know for sure that Wickers in Hicksville is about $27 pp. It is in the CVS shopping Center on Old Country Rd. I lOVE the food there.

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
I know - I stressed about my e-party as well. I would say $30 including alcohol is gonna be tough to do. I just got done booking my rehersal dinner and even though it is in the Hamptons there were no places for under $35 even with just beer and wine.
We did our e-party in September at my brother's house and it was perfect. We rented a tent, had a keg and full bar and my mom and MIL made half the food and catered the other half. All in all it came to about $28 a head for everything. IMO it was nicer and more personal than a random hall somewhere. Have you priced out having it at home?

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
We had our e-party at Pompei in West Hempstead. I think it was $26 pp and we got unlimited wine & beer, hot appitizers handed out by waiters, salad, pasta course, entree and cake. All the food was amazing, and we got tons of compliments. Jay at Pompei is really great to work with, she set everything up (down to picking out the table linens). We had the garden room, very pretty. I highly recommend them.

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
Check out Jonathan's restaurant in New Hyde Park....they have a few different rooms, including a bar area that I'm assuming could be used for a cocktail party. The food and service is great also.

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
Jennyg- I agree its the liquor that is causing the problem. My family and friends aren't just beer and wine drinkers either. I have looked into caterers that do all of the catering from start to finish, but once I add the liquor, the price jumps up significantly. I havent' stopped in a liquor distributor yet to compare the price on that. Where did you get the liquor from?

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
Did you ever get my email about the tents?
Anyway, HR Singletons in Levittown or could be Bethpage on Hicksville Road. Was really good for my friends e-party. However, I'm not sure how much she paid. Also, La Parma in Oceanside is really good too. LOTS of food! Again, not sure of price, but they have a separate room.
That's all I know of right now. Sorry.

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
I believe we had beer, wine and soda at both! I know definately at Singletons!
Okay, I'm glad to hear you did get that email though!
If you want something other than that to drink, I'm not sure the easiest and cheapest way to do that. I'm sorry I can't help with that.

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
When I checked singleton's for my E party it was VERY expensive.. . . How about a VFW or American legion usually you can get a place for $400 -$600 and then pay them around $10 per person for open bar (Some places will let you bring in your own liquor and beer!) and then you bring in the food (Make it yourself or order it from places) if the place is small enough you can have a multi disc stereo and burn a few cds and play that or hire a DJ (A cheap one!) We did this and spent about $27 per person and people RAVED about it and still are and it was in August. . .email me if you need more information!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: EParty Help AGAIN....
Wanda- We bought our own alcohol from a distributor and I think my mom had senior discount or something (she's 63). We actually wound up having left over vodka and about 6 bottles of wine. We opted not to do a bartender and everyone was fine making their own drinks. Of course my friends wound up doing keg stands after most of the guests had left so I would think they made their drinks pretty strong!
