My engagement party was yesterday and it was amazing. The room was perfect and everyone had a great time.
The only thing that is freaking me out now is that there were only 85 people there and I was running around all night trying to say hello to everyone and I didn't eat and it really just flew by....now I'm really worried I'm going to miss my wedding haha. everyone says the night will fl by, but I really don't think I understood what they meant. This was a preview of what its going to be like, I have to really come up with a plan to meet everyone in the cocktail hour so I can enjoy my DJ!

I felt the same way! Even at my shower I didn't get to say hi to everyone and then when my FH came...he was stuck having these long convos with ppl...I told FH that we have to stick together the entire night hold hands and not let anyone separate us...and not have ANY full on conversations with people. A simple hi, how are you, thanks for coming is more than enough since we need to enjoy our wedding too!
We will do a toast to thank everyone at the beginning of the night i think

I know what you mean! I had 85 people at our eparty too! I didn't eat because I was worried about saying hello to everyone and making sure everything was going smoothly.
I learned from that situation... I refuse to be that way at my wedding. I will be there to enjoy it, not worry about it. I told FH he must be no more than 5 feet away from me the entire night...i barely saw him at the eparty

a lot of brides say that they run around their whole wedding, I definitely don't want that to be me!!

The same exact thing happened to me and I was so disappointed bc I knew it was going to be a preview of the wedding. I plan to try to not do that at the wedding, and one band I met with actually suggested making an announcement when everyone first sits down at the reception to thank everyone for coming to share your special day with you. I actually thought that was a really good idea.

i dont want that to be me running around so that is why i got christine from peice of cakes and i will be walking around during the cocktail hour to greet people so i dont have to during the reception

I love this idea.. and I've been trying to talk to FH into the 5 ft rule in addition to greeting people as they walk into the CH.. I have time to figure it all out, but all I know is one that music starts in the RH I want to be dancing!

After my engagement party was over I cried. FH and I were not together at all the entire night because he wanted to talk to people and I wanted to dance. After the party was over I was so upset that it went by so fast. I'm glad we had an e-party because it was like a test run. Now i know what we can do to make the night better.
