Do you have to have a registry??

If so do you put where you are registered into the invite??

Is it possible to have it by Sept of this year??

We are having an engagment party at the end of august..soo just a little less than 2 years before our wedding
We did order favors for our guests. I did not register yet becuase i still have a lil less than 2 years...im not sure yet what exactly i want...soo i figured by not registering...money from guests would be the best : )

We had an engagement party about 2 months after we first got engaged (still 1.5 yrs till the wedding) It was just close family and low key at my parents' house. We had it catered from an italian restaurant and had a gorgeous cake. We gave little favors since it was right before Easter. For the kids we made baggies with candies and for the adults we gave little foam knee pads for spring gardening.

Usually you are not to expect gifts at an engagement party unless you already have your registery. I have not registered yet since we have awhile however I did receive lots of money and quite a few gifts, (bowls, frames, and my wedding champagne flukes) I think traditionally gifts are more given at the shower once you have registered but I think if you have dont it early then you should mention your registery on your e-party invites.
