Well, slight change of plans with photographer tomorrow. Our main focus is now Times Square- he had a point - you can take pictures in a park anywhere, but if you're in the city, take city shots (although to me, Central Park IS a distinctive character in the city). Which makes sense to me, as FH & I are city people and not park people!
So...we're gonna walk around Times Square...take pics in front of different buildings, get some artsy shots, maybe even some in a bar (which is totally the character of our relationship!). He said since it would be tough for us to get all this done before it gets dark, and if I still want 'park' pictures we can go to Bryant Park. How's it looking these days? Have the leaves turned there or are they all green trees? Have a feeling they're green...

I would think they've changed colors by now----the ones outside of my window have! Another great place to take pictures (though not close to Times Square) is battery park or the promenade in brooklyn. I think we're going to do our pictures there. I had originally thought that we were going to do them in Central Park, but we're not taking them until the day after Thanksgiving and I think that by then the trees will be bare. Oh great!! I just did a search for events at Bryant Park- you never know when they have stuff going on that can obstruct parts of the park. Well, wouldn't ya know? An ice dancing exhibition that night at 6:30pm on the POND!!!!!!!! They're bound to take over the area by 3pm, which is when we'll be there.

Sounds like you're going to have some pretty cool pictures!!! Tomorrow - you taking off from school or doing it after work? I would love to take off and have a 4 day weekend LOL

You're gonna hate me (is there a jealous icon? heehee)-
We have off today (Thurs) and tomorrow! In NJ, all schools are closed for the NJ Educators Association Conference. Do ya think I'm going?
This puts a serious kink into holiday concert planning though...that means a whole chunk of classes miss 2 Thursdays and 2 Fridays. Yikes.
But I love the days off anyway!!

Sorry late reply. They set up the skating rink at Bryant Park and they are setting up the christmas vendor stands. I always thought Grand Central is a very elegant place to take 'city' pictures.
How did your e-pics go?!?! Where did you end up taking them?

Oh darn!!! I totally thought of Grand Central as we were walking through the park and then it completely slipped my mind!!!
Bryant Park was actually great for pics- Jonathan got tons of creative shots!! We first took pics in Times Square....got a few cool ones there and some on the way to the park. Then we were at Bryant for a loooong time- lots of possibilities there, believe it or not! The skating rink was certainly in full force,all these people skating on a melting rink! ha ha ha!
We even got to take a pic by a firetruck parked on 6th ave!
Then we headed to an Irish pub for more pics!!! I'm sure we got some awesome shots! I should be able to post tomorrow night! I can't wait!
Wow! You guys got a lot of different backgrounds in!! I can't wait to see how they came out. I'm still trying to figure out what to wear for ours tomorrow....

Oooh yours are tomorrow! Where are you headed? Central Park?
I totally stressed over what to wear....and totally last minute, I went shopping again and found something...but when I think about it, the pictures won't really focus on what we're wearing anyway. Ugh I'm so nervous to get them back! I know they'll be great but I hope we don't look stiff or anything! It was tough getting my FH to loosen up.
And now I'm bummed I forgot about Grand Central...and even the front of the library! Talk about gorgeous architecture! Oh well...can't do it at all. Oh we also got a shot in front of a cool building on 6th near the park...very cool open space. Hard to explain...those pics should be cool too. Now I'm paranoid we spent too much time in the park! Ugh...okay I must shut up! haha

I know how you feel. I'm terrified that I'll hate all of our pictures. fh and I are not so big on taking pix, so it'll be interesting to see how our photographer deals with that...
I'm sure your pictures will be awesome - Bryant Park was a great idea. You get the best of both worlds - gorgeous park in an urban setting - love it.
We're taking our pictures at the seaport. It was SO difficult figuring out where to take them. I really wanted Manhattan at night as our backdrop, but it gets so difficult to take pix when it's dark, plus our photographer is coming in from LI.... Oh well!
Definitely post your pix as soon as you get them!!
