Could you tell me what Sam did that she is so upset about I got home late and missed the first half. Thanks

There was a woman who was raped. The woman agreed to talk to the Det. about the description of the man who did it. She died because Sam had to take the O2 thing out of her throat so she could whisper. So in an effort to catch the SOB Sam killed the woman.
