I'm so sorry to hear that. The answer about 'a popular date is such BS!'

The plus side is that the do GREAT work. I was concerned about customer service and didn't book for this reason....but the quality is outstanding. You'll have great pictures.

I am getting so angry at Duet I don't even know what to say. After reading what a lot of other brides are getting, I'm starting to think I got the major shaft, and I'm freaking.

First, no epics
Second, 10 hours only. I've read where other brides are getting 11 1/2
Third, I had to pay extra for ANY proofs.
Fourth, NO thank you's.

For 2 photogs and a video, I'm paying 4,000 with tax. Please let me know if anyone has a similar deal. I'm ready to open a can of whoop a$$.

i have a similar package and am also getting married in feb...i loVE duet so far and after all the bashing must stick up for them a bit...$4000 for 2 photogs a video guys is a great deal...i wouldt complain. they are like any other vendor trying to make money in this horrible economy. when you go in to sign you have to ask for what u want that day! You cant sign then go in and say well so and so got this so now i want it...it doesnt work that way... sorry. i am telling you that you will have nothing to worry about. 10 hours is pretty standard. plus....i dint want a photog there for longer....I want some private time with family and personal photos....my ceremony starts at 4pm...they wll be there at 2 and done at 12 when the reception is over...before then....i want to spend time with fam and my bms in private....jmo

with alot of vendors and RH's, you will see brides getting different deals. Some get things thrown in for free while others don't, you see it on here alot. They do base it alot on time of year you are getting married. In the winter months since they have a little less business they are trying to get clients so they do what they can and will lower the prices.

For my RH for example, I had a bunch of things thrown in that I saw other girls didnt have, so looking at that some girls probably think oh no why didnt I get so and so thrown in too. But then if you look at it more closely, I had alot more guests, i had added a bunch of extras that we paid for, so they had more room to work with us. I know one person told me that each room at an RH they have to book for a certain amount and can't go under, if they are right at that amount they cant do as much. If they go over that amount then they have more room to do stuff and throw things in for free, so really depends alot on the scenario.

do you and your friend have the exact same package? like a 2nd photographer, video. IF she paid for more things lets say video and you didnt then that would explain why they would throw in something for free. BUt if you have the exact same package and lets say she gets married in the off season then they worked with her to get her business since that is a slow time of year. Unfortunately, getting married in peak months such as june, you always pay more for things. Rh's cost more money for example and its bc they know they can get the business and know they are not starving for business that type of year and will try to get the most out of it since they know if you dont want it then someone else will come right along and be willing to pay for it. Its unfortunate but the nature of this business

Dealing with vendors is all about asking for things. Duet will throw things in up front but do not be surprised if they say no after the fact. If you wanted the thank yous they probably would have thrown them in up front. I got my epics included becasue it was important to me. I didn't care about thank yous so i never asked for them.

Every person will get a different deal from a vendor based on what they ask for and how much they push for things.

I agree with what girls have written, it depends on what you push for during the negotiation stage.

When I met with them, I requested an extra hour and e-pics. Thank You cards came with the package I was interested in. They agreed to these things but again, I had to ask...it wasn't offered.

Duet quoted me $5200 for everything you got...plus the extra time, epics and proofs. So I would have had to pay $1200 for the extras you want. $4k sounds like a good deal for what you are getting

when i posted i forgot she said it was 4k for all of that. Yeah that is a real good deal to get 2 photographers PLUS video and including tax. Thats why they are not throwing anything in for free bc its already at a great price.

I had problems with them too...
and did not book.

but sooo many people rave about them! im sure everything will be fine. you can keep harrasing them until they give in.. lol

I would call them and say exactly that. and knowing me, i wouldnt be so nice about it. I understand if they wont throw something in for you once you have already signed a contract, as annoyed as I would be about that myself, if you ask and they say no, it is what it is. but DONT dismiss me like that and not give me the time of day when I am paying you all this money. Be assertive!

Welcome to booking wedding vendors... you need to ask.

I pretty demanded Duet I wanted E pics thrown in and after a little hesitation he did to get me to sign lol. I've done that will all my vendors.

Everyone gets different deals. And unfortunately it is true they try to milk out what they can in the more popular season.
