My venue is using erga bakery for the cake. I would like to try the cake before I choose what type and filling we would like. Did you go to erga bakery? How does that work? Will they give us samples? Do we have to act like we want to order it through them or do we say we are using them through our venue? Please help!

WM uses that bakery but we have not picked out our cake yet. I believe you can go there and sample stuff but u have to contact the bakery directly to do that.
At the WM showcase they have a sample station but the pieces are minimal and you can only try a few flavors. I plan on making an appt with them soon to go and try stuff there before we go for our final menu appt.

we used Erga, and had a tasting before we chose our cake.
You call them, tell them that you are getting married at a hall that uses their wedding cakes, and you want to come in and try the combinations before your final menu meeting. They will set up a day and time for you to come in, and the flavor choices. Then you go in, say which options you want to try, and they make a little cake for you.
We knew we wanted banana, so we only tried two types, but its a good way to know the flavors you want

Does Watermill still use them? Thats who we had in 2007.. all i can tell you if so...DO NOT get marble cake w/ canoli and choc moose...it was horrible!

My RH was Fox Hollow, I called Erga and told them my wedding date and hall, they set something up for me to come in one day and taste a few different things. They were really nice and the cake was great the day of.

You can try calling Erga- We were told they did not do tasting both by the bakery and by WM...this may have changed. Our cake the day of our wedding was GREAT AND I am not usually a fan of most bakery cakes. It really depends what cake/fillings you get. You could alway buy a couple of different small cakes/cupcakes from Erga and taste them if the do not do tastings.
