I've been reading negative to mixed reviews about the taste of their cake on this website (though most say that they look very pretty). As the Westbury Manor uses them pretty much exclusively, does anyone A: have a strong opinion about this bakery, or B: know if the WM will extend a credit so we can use another baker?
I studied pastry and culinary arts, so the food and the cake (especially the cake!) are very, very important to me.
Thanks so much!

Re: Erga's Bakery
Where is the bakery located? I know of an Erga's in Bethpage and they are very good. We get all of our cakes for everything from there. Now there may be many Erga's on LI.

Re: Erga's Bakery
I just had my shower on Saturday and that's where the cake was from. Everyone said that the cake was awesome. Yellow cake w/chocolate and vanille pudding. I have always had good experiences with them. They've been there for atleast 25 years...I grew up in Bethpage and always remember going there as a kid.

Re: Erga's Bakery
i wrote a review of erga on my website, just had my wedding this past sunday..
erga does good design but personally i didn't care too much for the taste of the cake. i thought it was WAAAYYYY toooo sweet and abit grainy.
this coming from a pastry snob. ;)
one of my guest said he loves the cake though. he has a sweet tooth so if you have a sweet tooth as well, i would go with them.
otherwise, i believe someone who got married at WM said they do give you a credit if you get an outside cake, but you have to sign some kinda waiver saying WM is not responsible if someone from ur party got sick ....
