...a couple days ago I noticed that the setting holding my main diamond was a little tilted to one side...it bothered me, but I'm going to see FH next week so we figured we could go to the jeweler (ostermanns...its a subsidiary of Kay) and they could just put it back into place since he's got insurance on it.
Well today I was just looking at it and pushing my fingers on the diamond and it kinda made a sound like it was loose in the setting...IT IS LOOSE!! I can turn the diamond in the setting...now I am freaking out!! Should I stop wearing it???
I wanted to go to Kay today to get them to fix it but I don't have any of the paperwork for the insurance here, its all with FH...do you think they'll just take the info if he gives it to me?? I am freaking out!!!
UPDATE: FH wants me to wait until I come to Ohio next week, since apparently we can go to Jared and have it fixed right in front of us. They are also a part of the company that owns Ostermanns and Kay so our warranty will apply there. I took the ring off and put it back in the box and I'm wearing a ring FH gave me for Xmas on my left hand now...I just feel sad and kinda naked Either way I am without the ring but at least this way I know where it is and who's got it and that nobody is doing anything funny with my diamond...thanks for the support ladies, nobody understands these things the way you do!!

If you don't want to be without your ring, maybe try Gennaro's in Bellmore. They do repairs, etc. while you wait. And everything is done within your sight, so you don't need to worry about them stealing your stone.

At least you noticed it was loose so you can have it fixed w/o it falling out.
I know how you feel--I feel so naked w/o my ring..

I had a baguette loose in my ring a few weeks ago. I took it back to the jeweler where FH bought it (Leder's in Rockville Centre), and they fixed it right in front of me. There's no reason they should have to send it out.

I know exactly how you feel, my center stone got loose twice. they had to replace the prong setting. Take The ring off and keep it in the box. You might be unhappy that you can't wear it but you would be way more unhappy if you lost the stone completely.

OMG thank God u noticed that it was loose!!! take it OFF UR FINGER, put it in the box in a very safe place and then take it back.
I freakin worry about mine all the time! It's princess cut so only 4 prong. I waitress and I'm constantly checking my ring to make sure the diamond is still there!!!
