Can anyone give me ideas or post picture of the table where the cards are set up showing guests where they are sitting?
I am having a fairly formal December (but not Christmasy) wedding. I'd like something a little different/unique.
Thanks!

I love the way little votive candles look...only thing is, I hate them because its hard to carry a candle, a clutch and a cocktail at the same time,

Re: Escort Card Setup
I don't have a picture of it yet, obviously, but I'm going to keep mine fairly simple. Silk floral arrangement in burgundy and ivory that we HAVE to use, since FH's grandmother made it for us for the sole purpose of it being on the place card table, and a framed photo of me and FH as babies in our respective ethnic costumes. Maybe some scatter jewels, but not sure if it will just interfere with the cards.

Ooooh if I were doing a winter wedding, I would sooooo do this:
We got these a a gift for DH's company holiday party last year and they're lovely. I think they make great escort cards too!

Re: Escort Card Setup
Tracey I am having a pretty formal affair.
The place that im getting married does not have place cards at all. No cards, no table.
Instead, as people come into the reception they go to the maitre'd and are told what table they are sitting at.
THAT might be the 'different' you are looking for??

I heard that East Wind (my venue) used to do that, not sure if they still do.

Do you know where they are from?
My only fear is that they sort of look like Christmas ornaments, and I am trying to stay away from that. We are Catholic, but are inviting a number of Jewish people.

Re: Escort Card Setup
They double as ornaments, but they're totally not offensive and are really beautiful. I'm jewish and DH is nothing (his family is baptist) and most of his office is Indian / Muslim, and no one thought twice about these beautiful favors.
I googled 'snowflake ornament' to find them. They fit in your hand, just so you know the size. If you want, I can take a picture of the one we have when I get home to NC on Wednesday if you want to see the size.

Re: Escort Card Setup
im Jewish.
I would not be offended that its an ornament, but I would give it away to a christian friend. I would not have a use for it :)
Dont NOT get them because of your Jewish friends.
