For my wedding I used pictures of us traveling as the table names. I ordered 'business cards' from Moo.com with the pictures I used for the table names and on the back I included a place for people to upload pics to a share site. I Then ordered little envelopes in my color to put the cards in and that's where I wrote the guest names. It turned out great. I also created a room map (see below) to show where each pic table was located.
pintrest has a of ideas! I love the skeleton key idea! there is this company of u have the money, that does an electronic board for seating! it's so cool but too expensive for us!

We have pics of places we have been with the names on the tops (see album) and will have descriptions of the places and what we ajoyed doing there.
The escort cards will have the guest names on the front and the pics of these places on the back. These are yet to be printed. Will post pics once we do them, haven't sent out the invites yet.
FH niece painted large rocks with different flowers on them. Had smaller rocks with out first names painted on them and on the back the flowers the same as the ones on the large rocks for the table where we were to be seated.
Orange center flowers with white petals, or blue centers with orange petals, lavender, thistle, etc. Match your stone with the table stone and you find your table.

Wow you ladies are so creative!!
We have wine corks that lay horizontal with a slit in them to hold our escort cards. We are up in the air with whether or not we want to use names of wines as table names, or just traditional table numbers.

RoandJoe I like the idea of wine names instead of table numbers, it makes it so much more personal and your family and friends will love that special touch.
You can pick your favorite wines like Prosecco, Shiraz or Moscato d'Asti, to name a few or vineyard names like Cupcake, Pindar, Osprey Dominion, Palmer, Bidel.
Btw, I cheated on the wine types, I don't know that many I looked them up. But the vineyards I know from passing them on 25 to get to my grandmother's, except for Cupcake who we saw at a Bridal Showcase.
