Etiquette?

Etiquette?

FIL's have said that they want to pay for the RD and whatever part of the flowers the groom's family is supposed to pay for...they want to know how much to give.

What the heck part of the flowers are they supposed to pay for??

Re: Etiquette?

i would think she meant the groom's side of the flowers - groom's bout, FOG bout, MOG corsage, groomsmen bouts, etc...

check this out: click me

Groom pays for bouquets and bouteniers (pretty much everything except centerpieces and ceremony decor)

Re: Etiquette?

I think technically they pay for the bride's bouquet (I could be wrong) and all the men and the parents or vips on the groom's side. So all the GMs, the RB, and his parents and grandparents. I have this written somewhere at home and can check later for you when I get there if this hasn't been answered yet!!

Re: Etiquette?

I didn't know they paid for 'part' of the flowers...if they are offering, I think it should be for all the flowers

Re: Etiquette?

I was wanting some arrangements for the CH and for the ceremony...I haven't priced it out with my florist yet. Is it wrong to price it out with them and then just tell FIL's that is what they owe??? I don't think it'd end up being more than $500-$800.

Re: Etiquette?

Ya know my FMIL asked me the same thing...they must have read it from the same spot. Mind you, flowers are my mothers 'thing' (she is in a garden club and obsessed with flowers - so my parents are paying for the flowers since they wanna go crazy with the flowers) and we had already had our final meeting with the florist. I just thanked her for her offer and stated it was already taken care of (at least with the flowers). I was all confused too because I had never heard of that and why only offer to pay a portion of it and not all?

Re: Etiquette?

I would take the bill and split it in half - thats their part of the flower cost??
