Mizzdimple brought up a good question. I figured i'd kinda start a spinoff.
I would want to do a gift but do you think there's an etiquette for it?
FH's parents aren't paying for the wedding, should we buy them something? They haven't been too supportive of the wedding to begin with. They may help out with the RD but i'm still not so sure about that. ie i'll believe it if/when I see it.
My parents on the other hand have been soooooo helpful and supportive. I want to honor them.
What do you guys think?

Re: Etiquette for Parents gifts
I think it's only right to present FH parents with something. Totally understable if you don't really want to under certain circumstances but I am famous for avoiding any conflict or hard feelings before it occurs. I would get them something JMO

I think if you are going to get one set of parents., get the other., vice versa.

Thats what I was thinking as well....I don't want to insult anyone and i'm sure FH would FLIP if we got something for my parents and not his.
Maybe I can convince him to get them something nicer for my parents...especially since IMO there's a BIG difference between a 'gift' of $1500 and $10-15,000 especially since his parents have already claimed they would be 'guests' at the wedding and refused to help (and its not a money issue).
I shouldn't complain at all, we're putting money our of our pockets to begin with but i'm just glad my parents can help. I know there are many of you that are paying for everything yourselfs and I totally respect that.

Re: Etiquette for Parents gifts
Maybe get the FH parents something meaningful but not over the top expensive? Ie something from Things Remembered engraved? Or my mom bought a beautiful Lenox photo album @ Macy's for under $50.00
