My MOH is sitting next to me...she's also getting married in 2011 (but she's a Philly girl so not on these boards).
Her mom is insisting that the RSVPs should be returned to the parents. They're paying for about 80% of the wedding and my MOH is doing the organization and keeping track of guests. She is hesitant to let her mom do this for obvious reasons.
What do you girls think?

Re: Etiquette for response cards?
Thats really up to the bride. Does she live w her parents?
Is the question whether to have the ret address on the rsvp sent to the parents or the MOH?
If so, the rsvps prob shouldnt be mailed back to the MOH. Either the bride or parents. The MOH can still keep track if Mom isnt reliable or organized

Wait this is about her wedding not yours right? I was confused.
The bride has the right to have them sent to her.

Re: Etiquette for response cards?
Sorry - should have been clearer. I'm talking about HER wedding. I'm her maid of honor actually. I have nothing to do with it except that I'm trying to help. haha
The debate is whether the cards should go to HER or her mom. She doesn't live with her parents.

Re: Etiquette for response cards?
i am sure her invitations make it clear that the parents are hosting the wedding for the most part. I don't think it makes a difference if the RSVPs go to the bride or her parents if you ask me. It's just an address. I'm definitely having mine come back to me, but that's only because I want to know first and am a complete control freak.

I agree - and if she wants to get them sent straight to her, there shouldn't be anythign wrong with that. She seems to have everything under control, and want them in her possession to be able ot do seating.
my mom asked about this as well I told her it woudl bea hassle to pick them up from her all the time especially since I am the one doing seating, not her. but she also isnt paying for the wedding, so i have a little bit more pull there...

ITA----If the bride doesnt live with the mother, it can be a pain to go get them to make seating arrangements, and who is going to be responsible for calling those who forget to RSVP?

If it were me, i'd say send them to me! I'm too much of a control freak to allow them to go to my mom's. I say the bride should get them!

Re: Etiquette for response cards?
Whoever is organizing it should receive the RSVP. This person should keep consistent communication with whoever is paying for it :)

Re: Etiquette for response cards?
I personally would rather the RSVP cards be returned to FH and I. We are paying for everything in our case, but even if we weren't, I'd still want to handle that myself.

Re: Etiquette for response cards?
i was actually thinking about this this morning. I think I would have it sent to me just cuz I'd like to be in control of what's happening and be constantly be aware of who's responded
