I got a response card back with a decline but the couple did send a gift. My question is do I send a thank you note now or do I wait until after the wedding when I get my thank you pictures? Also should I cash the check now or wait?

Re: Etiquette Question
I would send a thank you to acknowledge the gift now and send a picture afterwards with a wish you were here type message. I think it's ok to cash the check now. If they wanted you to wait until after the wedding, they would have sent it then. Personally I don't like having checks outstanding for a long time.

Re: Etiquette Question
You are supposed to send a ty note within 3 months (but you should send one right away) my friends all sent me a short ty note when they got their gifts before the wedding, and then used the ty card later to thank me for coming to the wedding. Then any gifts she just days before the wedding, at the wedding and shortly after got the thank you card as their thank you note

Re: Etiquette Question
I think you send it know, and then maybe when you get your pics send a 'since you couldn't make it thought you might like to see a pic....thanks again' card. Does that make any sense?

Re: Etiquette Question
I think you should send the thank you card and cash the check now (You'll have enough other thank yous to write after the wedding!!!). I wouldn't worry about sending a picture unless you know they wanted one.

Re: Etiquette Question
I waited until my thank yous came in, but looking back I would of sent a thank you right away. I felt it was too long after they sent their gift that they got my thank you.

Re: Etiquette Question
Make it a practice to send a thank you as soon as you receive a gift.
