etsy question... anyone ever reported a seller?
I ordered tumblers from a seller on etsy and they were supposed to ship on Feb. 19. I messaged her to see how they were coming along and when they would get shipped and she responded that her dad had surgery and she would be working on them that weekend (the weekend of the 20th). I totally understood and said no to worry..Well today is now march 5 and it's been almost 2 weeks since that point. I messaged her 3 days ago on Monday to see how everything was coming along with no response... then I messaged her again early this morning to ask again and still have not heard back..
I'm worried that something could have possibly happened to her dad with surgery, but felt that I should have gotten a response... my mom thinks she is lying is trying to steal my money lol
idk what to do at this point because I've contacted her twice with no response now

I've never reported a seller but did have some delays on orders & I've always received what I purchased. Maybe you want to give her a few more days to respond & if she doesn't then I would cancel the Order with your credit card company & order them from another seller.

I wouldn't think that she's trying to steal your money because Etsy is a very reputable place, but I would definitely report her if she doesn't get back to you within another week. That money could be spent somewhere else that you'd actually be getting what you want. Anytime I've had a delay on an order the seller has always contacted me to let me know ASAP and offered a refund if they weren't able to fulfill by the previously given time.

I have reported a seller!!!They must get notified because as soon I I reported them, they responded to one of my many emails. etsy didn't do anything for me, neither did the seller.
I left a negative review which they weren't happy about.

I had reported a seller in the past. She was a complete scam. I ordered my sister-in-laws bridal hoodie and it said it would take however many days to ship. ( I thought it was a long time but figured because it had to get embroidered that maybe it did take a while) It ended up that she never responded back to me and there is a certain time frame that you must report a seller. I had passed that time frame all because she said it took however many weeks to make. Give it a couple of days but don't wait to long!

Did the etsy seller have good reviews? If she did, she probably isn't a scammer. If not, then maybe…. I never got a sample invitation from someone on etsy either and she ended up being a scammer. I didn't get my money back as it was too late but it was $20 only, so Thank God it wasn't more!

I would message her that you are going to report her and give her a bad review if you don't get a response. I've done that on ebay and the people responded right away. As long as they are reputable people who want to continue doing business on the site, they will not want the bad review.

yeah the seller has good reviews, so i'll give her a little more time. I still have 2 months, so if I don't hear by next week then I will send another message to her saying I will report if I do not hear back

I havent had that happen on Etsy, but this is exactly what I did when someone on Weddingbee completely stole my money! Got it right back.
I would give it one more week, and then contact Paypal. No matter what tragedy, a professional would either take a minute, or have someone else take a minute, to update their buyers.

I have to disagree with you ladies!! what if God forbid her father died? I don't think anyone would be too concerned about other things.*I edited because I didn't realize there was a time limit on reporting a seller. I stand by my first statement up top but I would definitely send a warning email saying your going to report by the date if you weren't updated on the situation BEFORE going and reporting her, because if she's legit about her dad's situation then **** happens and I don't think her business should suffer a bad review because of it. (especially if she is a well reviewed vendor)

this is exactly what I was afraid of... i don't want to report her yet because of the possibly of that- She has wonderful reviews so i'm not too worried yet

You can request your money back from Paypal and NOT have to post a bad review. You will get your money back and,if it does turn out she had a good reason, it won't affect her business. No one else would know. But, I agree you should give it another week or so.Welcome New Vendors
