Ettiquite question

Two friends of mine were recently married in April 2001. Their wedding was out of town and I was unable to attend. At that time, I sent them a generous gift from their registry. In a few weeks I will be attending a brunch in NYC which planned by the bride and groom for those guests who were unable to attend the out of town wedding. Brunch will be held at a hotel on a Sunday. Do I have to buy another gift and if so what type of gift and how much should I spend? I have known these 2 people for a number of years, however I would not consider them 'close' friends. thanks jen

I agree too that one gift is enough. If you'd like to get something else, just so that you don't show up empty handed, how about a reasonablly priced picture frame or a bottle of wine and a nice card saying that this present is in addition to the wedding present that you got them and you hope that they enjoy both.

I think one gift is fine, but somebody posted this idea not too long ago... 4 bottles of wine... 1 first night 1 first fight... I can't remember the rest, but you might be able to search for it

I agree with bringing an inexpensive 'token' gift if you are not comfortable showing up empty handed.

One gift is enough..too many parties for a wedding

I sometimes disagree with all of this celebrating for a wedding. I don't mind getting & giving gifts, but it turns out to be a lot for the attendees. Between engagement parties, showers, and weddings it's too much. We skipped the engagment party for that reason. Family only for that one.
