Re: europe-italy
We spent 16 days there on our HM and easily could have spent more. You do get tired of eating out but the time you spend seeing the sights makes up for it. We spent 3 days in Rome, Sorrento, Siena, Florence and Venice and a 1 night stop in Assisi. The amount of time in each city seemed just right for us.

Re: europe-italy
I was there two weeks and saw Rome, Naples, Pompei, Florence, and Venice. I would have wanted to see Capri as well and some other smaller cities... but two weeks was a good amount of time!

When I went to Europe with friends after college, we did Italy in one week, but I'm sure there's a lot we missed. One place off the beaten path that we heard about and ended up going to and LOVED with Chinquterra (sp?), these 5 towns on the Italian Riviera. There's a beautiful but slightly scary hike that connects them.
