Re: Evaluating at our wedding expenses...

Don't forget to put a 'cushion' of about 10% of your total budget for unexpected expenses. Something will come up.

Did you include tax and gratuity of 18% on the catering hall?

I 'padded' or always rounded up my expenses. For example, my flowers are $678. I put into the budget program $750 in case I decided to do flowers for aunts or something I have the money already there.

I hope this helps. I teach economics on the high school level and am a bit obsessive and conservative when it comes to budgets.

I also have a lot of tips to help save money while you are engaged. I keep meaning to post it for everyone.

Good budget, Irene! But i would pad it, as some of the girls said, for tax and gratuity

Also, did you add accessories like shoes, undergarments, garter, purse/birdcage/giftcard holder? Those things can add up.

Tax & service charge is included in the hall. That budget includes all accessories and bridal party gifts. It only does not include tips.

We are having 84 guests.

And I have to applaud me. I did really good with the planning and cost management. Here is what I mean:

Leonard's - $6170.25 (this included 15% service charge and 8.70% tax)
A&S Whitestone - $1500
12th Night - $1871.62
The Pros DJ - $756.99
Alexis Limousine - $444
Officiant - $500
Total for vendors = $11,242.86

Add onto that the favors, my dress, tuxedo, hair, makeup, and all the rest, our total out of pocket wedding costs is $15,000.

The only thing that does not include are tips. (BTW ladies, I am going to need help figuring how much to tip each vendor.)

Geez- I wish my expenses looked like this! I refuse to add everything up- I might have a heart attack!

Me too!! I have a running spreadsheet and when I added the cost of our videographer, I almost had a heart attack. I may have flipped out just a bit!

That's why I have sworn off calculators for the duration of our planning. LOL

You did a great job and it looks like you got some quality vendors in the process. Do you mind telling us what your photo package includes? I still have to book mine.

We are having between 80 and 90 people. Yeah, Leonard's price goes up since you are in high season.
