I emailed Kleinfelds about that dress and she told me that particular Eve was in the high 5,000's. They can be up to like 15k I think though so for her that is not too much lol

Re: Eve of Milady?
That was a good idea, to e-mail Kleinfelds about the dress!
My sister bought an Eve of Milady gown and it is absolutely stunning! She tried it on at Kleinfeld's but was able to find it cheaper at a trunk sale at Bridal Reflections. Plus she had it shipped to our uncle's house in NJ & avoided paying the NY tax
If we actually bought the dress in New Jersey, do we have to pay tax?
Was it the Bridal Reflections in LI or in NYC? Did they ship the dress after alterations?
I think I would freak out that the dress might get lost during the shipping process!

No, NJ does not charge you the sales tax. We were going to go to the salon in NJ but Bridal Reflections gave us a better deal (we bargained with them a bit). Since the top corset part of the dress is not lined, they included it in price if alterations for free lining. The dress was shipped straight from the designer to bridal reflections & from bridal reflections to our uncle's house. My sister can now take it to any bridal reflections store for alterations. We went to the one in the city to buy it but my sister is going to the one in LI to get it altered. It's a big package - no way it will get lost! Plus they give you tracking info.

Eve of Milady?
I fell in love with the sister line, Amalia Carrara. There is an Eve of Milady/Amalia Carrara trunk show at Bridal Reflections NYC the weekend of September 14th and i'll be going to that to purchase my dress :) I can't wait!

Thanks for the info! I have been receiving conflicting info about purchasing a gown in NJ. Some people have told me they have a luxury tax.
That's great that Bridal Reflections were so flexible. We'll keep all the info you gave me in mind. Thanks!
