Eve of Milady Dress

I went to RK Bridal tonight to order the dress that I was going to get but I wanted the top to be altered. Then I asked the saleslady if she could recommend some other dresses that had a similar look because the change to the dress might be too difficult. She had me try on an Eve of Milady dress and my parents and MOH loved it! I also liked it too. I'm planning on going back to order it on Monday, but now I'm worried if it will come in on time after reading how long Eve of Milady dresses take. The saleslady said it would take 5 months. Should I trust that estimation? I'm getting married in August. What do you guys think? Should I go for it? Thanks!

i ordered 2 eve dresses for my wedding.....the first one came in four and a half months....then i changed my mind about it and ordered a second one only 4 months before my wedding and it came 2 months after we placed the order...so DONT WORRY!!! as long as the place is reputable (which RK is) and they have a good relationship with the designer, it wont be a problem...good luck!!!

How does your dress look like? I wish she had a website. The one I want has some beading on the bodice and a row of beading near the waistline, beaded spaghetti straps, a few buttons down the back and a detachable train that has beading on the trim of the skirt and train. The skirt is organza silk.

wow it sounds almost like my dress!!! mine has an organiza skirt, a matte satin top with vine-looking beading, beaded straps and a humongus detachable train....i cant wait to wear it in 2 weeks!!! she makes the most beautiful, feminine gowns...

I ordered my Eve Of Milady dress in January for my August wedding. All the shops said she takes the longest, but I was so surprised when I found out it came in 2 and a half months later. You will have more than enough time. I was so happy with my gown!!!

My Eve gown was ordered end of April & came in end of August. My store(which I do not recommend)
said Eve Does Not rush. I offered to pay more to avoid stress. I also had a zipper problem & had to get a zipper from a different dress maker because Eve wouldn't rush ship it.
I think you have enough time, but you should not feel stressed about it.

They said mine would be between 8/9 months and it has been five months already.. When I ordered the dress they said it was a less common one and not many bridal stores carried it, I had called four before I could actually find the dress to try on..

If you ladies don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your dresses? I just fell in love with one that is $2500, similar to what was described. Is that about right? My wedding is in May. They told me that would be enough time without a rush order but I should order soon, like this week.

That's about what I paid for my Eve gown. Mine was actually bit less, but that was in 2000. So, with the way prices creep up year after year, I'd say your price is right on target.
And yes, order it right away. I was told my gown would take 9 months. It came in in 3, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

The dress I'm looking at is $1600 (without alteration costs) at RK Bridal. I haven't looked at any other bridal salons to compare but I think RK has the most competitive prices. The other dress I wanted to get was $600 more at another bridal salon.

I don't know how long mine will take, because I ordered it at Kleinfeld and they work in their own world....I'm not supposed to receive mine until March. (I ordered it in April).

Mine was just about 2000, not including alterations etc...

Mine was $3200 before alterations. I wish I would have bought it somewhere else.

Thanks everyone. I am leaning towards getting it, its such a beautiful dress. I'll definitely check RK Bridal first. The price does include alterations so I guess its not so bad. Its just so much cheaper on the internet but I'm afraid of going that route. I don't want anything to go wrong.
