Re: Even FH enjoys this Tradition

I told FH this today.

He just looked at me funny...

How's everything going with you? Are your invites out yet? I have been traveling for work for the past 10 days and FH sent ours out while I was gone. We have already received a bunch of RSVPs! So far this is the best part.

I liked the original post better. Sorry you felt like you had to change it.

Things are going good. We haven't sent our invites out yet. I just finished putting them together yesterday...and then realized we need the hotel info inserts, and maybe a map card for the church...

I hope most of your RSVPs have been YES! or at least, the ones you wanted to be yes were.

Meh, i changed it for several reasons, one reason b/c it was long winded, and the other was b/c apparently those 'friends' like to frequent wedding websites, even though they are not engaged nor dating anyone.

This entry became someone's away message and wasn't worth the drama.

The original post was me explaining my user name, and paying a bit of tribute to John and Yoko.

Is your name at all based on the Dar WIlliams song? I think of it every time I see your screenname.

actually, it's based on the Bare Naked Ladies' song but now i'm going to go listen to the song you mentioned because i read the lyrics just now and love them.

Re: Even FH enjoys this Tradition

I just found out that the line in that song is
'never had the reigns to part with' and I am so disappointed--I always thought it was rings instead of reigns.

I have this fascination with how John and Yoko met--apparently, shortly after they met, she showed up at his house and left a ring there so she would have an excuse to come back. In college, whenever a guy who was visiting accidentally left something behind, we referred to it as 'pulling a yoko.'

OH MY GOD!
We'd say the same thing!!

I have always had an obsession with John and Yoko... i'm a Beatles fanatic to begin with... and well their love story...
yea.
so when FH's friends called me Yoko as an insult i took it as a huge compliment instead.
every year for Christmas since then FMIL has given me a framed picture of John and Yoko and our rehersal dinner is at Elenore Rigby's

That's so sweet of FMIL. Do you have them as a decorating scheme in a room? Are you incorporating this into the wedding at all?

i've seen you on the board and was always intrigued by your name. thanks for clearing it up. i never heard that Barenaked song.

peace
