Did anyone forego day pics and have an evening ceremony? I am considering now not having my friday wedding at 5:30 and maybe starting it at sunset which will be 6:30 and do all candlelight for the ceremony, but then I worry that I won't get any good pics with FH, i know me and my girls will get daylight pics but him and I won't...opinion? thoughts???

Re: Evening Bride...No Day Pictures
I love the idea of a formal , candle lit evening wedding.... very romantic. but understand the pic thing.
How would you feel about seeing each other prior to the ceremony?
Im thinking the same thing btw....
Part of me wants the big grand entrance but, we are both such emotional people, I think we may want to see each other for the first time in private, so that will work for day pics.

You know he really has been very 'whatever you want to do' for the wedding, but when I brought it up to him he was like i really don't want to see you till you walk down the isle...the other part of me is that it might rain ( ) so you never know and then i could have done the candlelight bc i wouldn't have gotten any pics outside anyway! so it really is just a have to decide what i want more kind of thing. I kind of feel like i want to wait to see him too, for that moment you both hold special...ugggg

I'm having an afternoon ceremony but it's winter so we'll be taking pictures in dark after the church anyway. I don't really mind I've seen some great ones taken at night....very romantic!

I love the idea.... are you totally against taking pics before the ceremony? FH and I are taking our pics before the ceremony so we can really enjoy the wedding and be a part of the cocktail hour. Maybe that is an option for you so you can do the candles but still have day shots.

I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND AND FACED THE SAME CHALLENGE. I DID NOT WANT TO SEE FH PRIOR TO THE CEREMONY BUT AFTER DISCUSSING W/ SOME FRIENDS THEY RECOMMENDED SEEING EACH OTHER FIRST FOR 2 REASONS:
1.) LIGHTING AND THE OPTIONS OF DIFFERENT/MULTIPLE PHOTO LOCATIONS
2.) YOU WILL BE SO NERVOUS WALKING DOWN THE ISLE YOU PROBABLY WILL HARDLY REMEMBER IT - IF YOU DISCUSS W/ YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER HOW TO MAKE THE PERFECT FIRST SIGHTING HE WILL MAKE IT SUCH A SPECIAL FIRST SIGHTING THAT WILL LAST A LIFE TIME.
HOPE THIS HELPED!

My ceremony was at 5 in Dec so it was dark... we saw each other beforehand and took pictures in the day

Really I guess I never thought of speaking with the photographer about that I could always do that if we decide to go later.

Re: Evening Bride...No Day Pictures
talk to your photographer- they may be able to use certain lighting to make it look ' light out' for certain pics.
