Ever eaten at the Oak Chalet?

Has anyone ever eaten at the Oak Chalet? It's a German Restaurant in Bellmore. We thought it would be nice to have the RD in a German restaurant.

They seemed nice on the phone.

I have never heard of it- why don't you and your FH go there for dinner and see how you like it - it is always nice to go to dinner.

I think I might have with FFIL and FSMIL - If it was the place I was thinking about the food was good but they didn't have the air conditioner on and we were all dying to get out of there

I've eaten their once in May (so I don't know about the air conditioning), but i liked it a lot. It's a nice place for RD.

I go to Oak Chalet about 4 times a year. It is a GREAT restaurant with outstanding german food. The only thing you should know is that it is a quiet and dimly lit place. You should eat there before you book it. But the staff is amazing and it is one of my favorites restaurants in Long Island.

Thanks everyone. My sister and I are going there for dinner Thurs. night to check it out. Funny about it being quiet. I'll bet it wouldn't be quiet if my FHs groomsmen were there!

If that doesn't work out I know a number of people who have had parties at Koenigs which is also good. Ask wacky about it I think she is having her rehearsal dinner there.
As for the air conditioner don't know if they don't have it or it was broken - but their food IS very good

There is also a German restaurant that is pretty good that is in Lindenhurst. I think it is on Wellwood. I can't think of the name

The food there is excellent, if you like German food. They are very nice. It is definetly quiet and dimly lit- very cozy. My FH has eaten there for years and raves about it!
