I've had a few.
Make sure you go two weeks or more before your event....people tend to break out right after a facial because it brings all of the impurities in your skin to the surface.
I've gotten them at Nu-Best salon in Manhasset. It's was fantastic!! I also went to a place in NYC but I can't remember the name
ETA: Definetly worth it, if not only for the fact that you can relax and let someone rub ur face for an hour.

Mario Badescu in NYC. The best and $65 for a facial. Every major celebrity has gone there. In fact, milla jovovich was there in the waiting room when I went for a facial!! The price is very reasonable and you walk out glowing. Their products are great too and not very pricy.

I second this!!! This is where I went before my wedding and am continuing to go.
my skin is extremely sensitive but I get one every 4-6 months depending on my schedule.
I've never used Mario Bedescu although I have heard great things about them.
I go to Estee Lauder in Manhasset; Eva is my favorite esthetician there

I LOVE Bliss in Soho but it's very $$$$. I go there when I want to pamper myself
The key at mario is that when they try to get you do 'treatments' say no because it's usually a 30 dollar treatment that they add on!

i use Cactus Day Spa in Commack and Huntington--they have a bunch of locations in long island.
its such a refershing feeling when you are done--cause you realize how light and airy your face feels afterwards!
but as another one said--your face can break out afterwards or you can have red/blotchy spots from them removing anything like blackheads or impurities

My mom owns a small spa in glen cove, so when i wasnt going to school in the city i would go every month for a masage and facial. LOVE IT...anything where I am pampered a bit is fun for me! Where ever u go they should be able to tell you when you need to come in for how long and blah blah. I get microdermabrasion and three months before my wedding I plan on getting seaweed wraps to loss the extra water weight...it takes inches off! Cant beat that!

I love getting facials! The best i ever got was from the Red Door Salon. I think it's in Westbury? It was a bit expensive and I can't go there regularly so I go more often to cactus. To treat yourself, I would highly recomend Elizabeth Arden.
