Ever Have a Phrase

Ever Have a Phrase

Stuck in your head for no good reason?

Not even something good or useful.

I wouldn't mind so much if the winning lottery numbers kept running through my brain. Or even a wonderful poem or a ghost memory of my favorite day ever.

Nope - not me. I get bits of dialogues and parts of stories not yet written trapped in the filter of my mind and sometimes I can't scrub them out.

All night I heard this:

She slid over a thin slice of leftover regret with a side of chilled apathy and a tall glass of Who Gives A Flying F*ck. I gave a weak smile and breathed deep and thought 'Welcome Home, Birdie'.

Not remotely useful. And annoying enough to keep waking me up just so I could think how annoying it was.

Now it is yours.

Usually I get a single word burned into my brain at a certain time, and I overuse it - even when it doesn't even apply until it annoys the bejesus out of all the people around me. DH usually then bans me from using the word/phrase anymore (to save him from insanity).

Banned words/phrases:

In theory
Lame

Also I get people stuck in there and they keep popping up in my memory. It is strange cause it is usually the most random people who I have no real reason to be thinking about or even a reason to remember their existence, but there they are burning a hole in my brain.

This too!

Once I used obstreperous so much that my 2 year old started saying it. Do you know how hard it is to work obstreperous into everyday conversation? I found a way.

And I find myself googling people that I don't care about anymore just because they wandered into that weird part of my brain. Like the girl who moved to my Junior High from Texas in 7th grade and sang opera and got to hook up with my crush. Why would I think of her? I haven't even SEEN her since like 1986,,

I'm like Suz, they're usually 1 or 2 word phrases.

True fact
supposably (I like saying it wrong)
