How much is normal to spend on these per 5-piece place setting? There is one I like in Crate and Barrell but it is $35 per setting - is that an average price?
How many do I register for?

Re: Everyday china?
I chose Crate & Barrel's Roulette Blue. It's $35 a place settings and I already received all of them. I registered for 8 place setting and 4 extra dinner plates. I never use those little bowls and plates and didn't need 12 of each of those.

I went a little crazy, but only because I loved it. I got Denby Energy Charcoal/Celedon...it's $107/place setting. Obviously, I've been buying a lot of them myself!!!

I registered for the Roulette blue too!! Right now a five piece setting is $35.95. I registered for 12 of the 4-piece setting - which is $31.95. I liked the bowl and mug that were in the 4-piece better than the 5-piece and I never use those saucers...I also registered for the completer set which is $100.00.

Yes, the 4 piece. A cup and saucer is good for formal china but I want my MUG OF COFFEE in the morning That's the difference in price then, I totally forgot about the two choices. I just receved the 5-pc completer and the sugar bowl & creamer is just so cute!

People are going to buy what they want for you. If the dishes are what you like, I would register for them. Whatever isn't bought, you could always pick them up on your own.
We registered at C&B for everyday dishes as well. The plain white, diner dishes. I like the versatility of the white and being able to add accent plates for a change of pace. They're $39.95 for a 16pc set.

Great taste!! They are awesome!! I had originally picked the villeroy & boch poppy set - but then saw these and LOVED them!
I'm having trouble deciding between two differnet sets for my 'fine' china - its between these two -
The first one is villeroy & boch -
And the second is by kate spade -
I'm so indecisive wiht this stuff!! I love both of them - but no way in teh world do we need two good sets!

I love the Denby plates too. If I didn't already have everyday dishes that are in very good condition, I would have registered for them too. I keep eyeing them whenever I go to Fortunoff.
