Hmmmm here is my dilema....

I didn't register for formal china or silver. China I have a set that I got years ago (when I was engaged previously) & barely used. I have service for 8 (I think). Silver I wasn't going to register but my FIL's wanted to get it for us. They got us service for 12. My everyday dishes I was thinking of getting service for 12 (3 sets of 4) and my everyday flatware comes in service for 8. Do I add one more set of everyday dishes & flatware giving me service for 12 in dishes & 16 in flatware?

Now have I totally confused everyone.....lol

For our everday we registered for 10. Our flatware came with 8 so I guess we will have to buy the other two separate.

I got such a great deal on my everyday dishes that I bought 16 place settings myself! I registered for 16 place settings of flatware (it came in sets of 8). We'll see what I get.

I did 8 for everyday 12 for china as well but I also registered for a plain white everyday set just in case i figure it can match anything and they were only like 12 bucks.

Register for the extra sets (possibly even 2 extra for 16 place settings)! Especially if you do or intend to entertain.

We didn't have to register for everyday flatware/dinnerware, but we did register for 16 place settings in fine china.

i was going to do 12 of everything, but we have 16 sets of flatware, as it only came in sets of 8.

Jenny,

I went & added the extra sets to my registry. Only one extra set of dishes. I do not and do not intend to entertain. My house isn't big enought for that many. Thank God!!!!

FI grandma got flatware for 12 to use for everyday(although it more formal)(she also gave me 12 of my formal china). Parents bought everyday dishes for 12 & fiance has plastic set he loves for 8

For entertaining we have formal flatware for 24
and dishes for 24, we still need a set of 4 (he has a big family) my family is only 12, and will be entertaining them on separate days

12 is a good amount to get. My sister has that and anything over it she uses plastic(refuses to wash plates) I will be the first in his family to give 28 people plates and flatware(my dishwasher will be full those days)

I registered for 12. I received all 12 flatware settings, but only 5 dish settings (my pattern went on backorder right before my shower...luckily I received a lot of gift certficates).
