What is the best humidor to buy? I want to get my FH one as a wedding gift with our wedding date, etc... but I don't know where to even begin.... He doesn't smoke regularly, just on special occasions and with some of his friends...

You don't have to use the water but then the cigs will dry out pretty fast. They need 70% humidity to stay fresh. That's the purpose of a humidor. My FH has one and it only takes 2 minutes to refill the water part of it. It's like a shot glass amount of water. It's really not that bad. And if you have expensive cigars, it's worth the 2 mintues.
I'll check at home tonight what brand it is.

Mine got his at Bed, Bath and Beyond. He put it on the registry and we got it at our engagement party! I doubt they have many to choose from.

I agree. Do not buy it over the internet. I bought DH one from the Thompson Cigar Company and it stunk. We brought it in to the little cigar factory and they said the seal on it was horrible. And it was too late to return.
The little cigar factory had great ones at all different prices in their shop. Definitely go somewhere where you can talk with someone and they can explain it to you. And you can actually see it before investing in it.
As for the water part, it is not difficult, takes all of two minutes to maintain.

i got my FH his from thompsoncigar.com...its their own brand of humidors.....i got it for a really good price....some even come with a package and you get cigars and accessories with the humidor
