EW brides...

What hotel (other then the Inn) are using for OOT guests?

Re: EW brides...

The closest hotels are the Best Western and Holiday Inn in Riverhead, the Hampton Inn and the Radisson at Exit 63, The Courtyard Marriott between exit 60 & 61, and then the other Marriott at exit 58.

I'm visiting the two Marriott's tomorrow, but I'm leaning toward the Hampton Inn because they include breakfast in the room price. I would like them to come down in price to match the price I got from the Radisson and the Courtyard Marriott.

I'm unfortunately using the Inn at EW. Thanks to their over-priced rooms, ridiculous blocking policy, and now snotty mgmt, I wish we would have went with the Best Western. It is less than 10 mins away, and for extra $, they will provide shuttles and keep bar open longer/later.

Yes for every 15 rooms blocked you get a free shuttle.

Hmmm...don't have a lot of OOT people. There is an extra charge for shuttle otherwise?

ETA: another question...I know at the Inn they make the bride and groom pay for blocking the rooms. I pray that these other hotels don't have the same policy...do they?

Only the Riverhead hotels have a free shuttle, which is only free if you wind up with a total of 15 rooms booked. There was one hotel that offered me a bigger discount on the hotel room if I guaranteed 80% of the rooms blocked would be booked (which meant I had to pay for unbooked rooms). For example, if I blocked 10, and only 6 were filled I had to pay for 2, but the rate was $20 less per room than without the guarantee.

HTH!!

FH and I are staying at the Inn b/c they offer the B&G a free room. We didn't want to give up that deal. My family is staying at the Hampton Inn. They gave us a rate of $149. However, they do not provide a shuttle and we had to book our own. My FH family is staying at the Best Western (don't ask me why they are staying at different hotels) I think the Best Western provides a shuttle.

I was thinking about using East wind but after the bad experience of another bride I am leaning toward the Holiday Inn Express on Route 347 in Setauket. It's more West, which is where all my OOT will be coming from and leaving from.
