Ew I hate when women...

wear white to someone's wedding. I recently attended a wedding and a girl (who was a date of one of the groomsmen) was wearing a white dress with a plunging neckline. Everyone was commenting and making fun of her.. IMO Unless the bride specifies people to wear white or has said she doesnt mind, wearing white to me just screams 'Look at me I need attention!!' and looks desperate/ pathetic. Maybe I'm old fashioned/traditional, but there are tonnnss of other colors in the rainbow- leave white for the bride! Does this piss anyone else off? Im normally soo laid back but for some reason this really irks me! It's not even a center of attention thing for ME, i personally hate being center of attention, but its just the disrespect of tradtion that annoys me. If someone wears white to my wedding, ill be wearing red to their funeral

ITA! I also see it as a HUGE sign of disrespect for the Bride. I mean come on, all of us have dreamed about our wedding days and having all eyes on us in our big white dreses.. Obv whoever does where white to a wedding is out to try and get some kind of rise out of the bride which just isnt right..

i would be annoyed too. its disrespectful. i have been to a wedding before where a guest wore a white dress and there were def many raised eyebrows at her attire...

Ugh, that's one of my biggest pet peeves. I think it's very disrespectful to wear white, off-white, ivory or cream to a wedding. Leave it for the bride to wear the light shades...

I agree. Wearing white to a wedding is flat out rude. I hope no one has the guts to do that at my wedding. I'd probably say something passive aggressive.

I agree. I also feel like a sexy, red dress is kind of tacky, too, to wear to a wedding.

That is ridiculous. One of my sweet friends showed me the dress she got - the top is black and the bottom is white with flowers. It was really pretty, and she wanted to check with me to make sure it was okay to wear a dress that was half white with a pattern. This I didn't mind and she was so sweet for asking. Pure white, though....thats a problem!

Someone wore white to my wedding last week. I was a little annoyed, but just brushed it off cause it wasn't worth my time.

I did this once, actually. I found a floral dress for an outside wedding with colored flowers all over the skirt portion, but from the waist up was pain off white. I bought a pink cardigan and asked the bride if it was okay to wear the dress if I wore the cardigan too. She so sweet about it and said yes. It's just about being considerate!

I totally agree that any light shades of white or ivory champagne are a no no and a sexy red dress is a bitchy move too. When in doubt- pick another color or ask! Having white in the dress with other colors wouldnt bother me, but solid colors are a no.
I'm glad im not the only person who thinks this is tacky. Now I dont feel bad for how pissed I was when i'll just say 'someone i know' was picking out off white poofy ball gowns to wear at my wedding...I mean these dresses looked like bridal gowns! I had to say 'ummmm wow we are both going to look like brides....'
