I was planning on using Excel to keep track of our guest list. Do you think I should alphabetize all the entries or categorize them- 'Grooms family', Brides family', 'Friends'.

that's what i did... i use excel for everything and i have my GL split up between my FH and I, then broken down by family, friends and tentative counts in each section and a subtotal on the bottom.

Crashing - I did both. I alphabetized them and had a column that indicated whether they were my side, FH's side, or friends. My sheet is also ridiculously detailed with filters so I can sort through things very quickly.

I live on excel, you should make 3 different lists and alphabetize them!

id def do 3 diff lists for grooms fam your fam and friends i think that make it easier for you!

I used excel too. I categorized them. I didn't worry too much about alphabetical because thats too much work lol. But you could always sort them alphabetically when your done
