So I am starting to organize my guest list in Excel, and I was just wondering what everyone found worked best? Did you combine everything in one list, his and your guest lists? When I hit the sort alphabetically it will sort the first column...but then how do i keep the stuff in that row together??? Did you color code the boxes??? I know I've used this before, but more for numbers, and mom says once i figure it out it will be easy...just having trouble figuring what works best and I want to stay organized and then be able to transfer into microsoft word easily

Re: Excel Question
I do this a lot for organizing my students names. I name the columns first. For example: first name, last name, address, phone number etc. Then if I want to sort it into alphabetical order I would do sort by last name only. If you want to sort by brides side and groom's side I would add a column for bride/groom. Then you sort by last name then bride/groom. That should work.

Re: Excel Question
I color coded the guests to keep track of them. My family was yellow, his orange, his friends blue, my friends purple. It helped when we did the seating arrangements, because mostly we put people together with others in their color category. As for the alpabetizing, I have no idea!

Re: Excel Question
I did the fields like first name, last name, etc. But I also did a master spreadsheet with Outer Envelope and Inner Envelope so the person addressing the invites would know.
Then I did tabs for the save the date list, the shower list to send to my MOH, rehearsal dinner list, and the wedding RSVP list.
I also color coded the tabs and the people in the spreadsheets.
If you have any other questions feel free to FM me. Excel is awesome!
I even did a spread sheet for songs we like. My DJ was very impressed with it last night!

Re: Excel Question
I have a GREAT excel tool kit for my whole wedding planning process. It may be too big to attach via FM, but I will try!
