Excellence Riviera Maya

So, we are considering honeymooning here....I'm not sold on it. It doesn't make me scream 'I NEED TO GO HERE!'....but it does look very nice...

anyone ever been? If so, is the beach bad? I read some mixed reviews. Also, tripadvisor has a lot of comments regarding musty rooms. Is this true? This would KILL my allergies...

any help is appreciated!

They do look great but I noticed a ton of comments about the beach being filled with sea weed so much so that you can't swim....and also the musty room thing...I'm a bit nervous...

Poor Tom, we're torturing him. I just don't seem to LOVE anywhere....

Funny, I am in the same situation! I am also using Tom and he highly recommends it, but I just don't get the WOW factor from it. I did discover a new all inclusive in mexico that I just emailed Tom about this morning. I get a better feel from this place. FM me if you want details. Let me know what you decided or where else you are looking.

I have read great things about it! There is also one opening on Isla Mujeres and there is one in Punta cana.

We're going for our HM on 11/4 it looks amazing. Vintagegirl just went and her pics look great. I think there is sea weed but they clean it every day. Her pics I didn't notice much. Depends on what you are looking for... we had a tough time too finding a place..

I went to the resort in Punta Cana, when it was still Secrets Excellence. LOVED the resort, but did not like that we could not go swimming at the beach because the water was too rough.

We were going to book Excellence Riviera Maya, but because it is relatively new, we decided to book Sandasl Antigua.

I know a few people that went and LOVED it!
The reviews I read were great. You are always going to get people who complain about the smallest things on Trip Advisor. I read that review that you read, and to be honest the person seemed to have a problem w/ quite a few things.

Yea, my FBIL went there on his honeymoon and liked it. Although he went to Punta Cana (That's where we are honeymooning) the summer before and said it liked Punta Cana better.
