Excited!!

So, I have been having a rough several weeks. One of my APs has asked me to take on a lot of 'extras' at school and my principal asked me to take on something else, so I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. My weeks have now been leaving at my usual time of 5:30am, but not getting home until 9pm-ish. Of course part of that is because I go straight from work to the gym at 7:30, so I'm getting in that, but I just feel all off. Starting this Saturday I will also be doing a Saturday test prep class at my school. In addition, I've had a lot of stress with one of my students being abused. It's so upsetting to me because there is so much 'red tape' and I just don't understand why this child is still in this situation. I totally cried myself to work most of the days last week! I'm just realizing I can do the best that I can and try to help this child, but I can't always be bringing it home with me to the point where it's affecting my daily life. I've just never dealt with a situation like this before.

A few of my girlfriends were planning a girls getaway and I wasn't going to go, but FH told me that I needed to go and he would treat me to the trip!! So, I'm going to New Orleans in 4 weeks!! I'm excited!! Not that it fixes everything, but it's so nice to have something to look forward to short term! Has anyone ever been??

Uhh im sorry for what your going through.. I hate hearing stories about children or pets being abused. Alls i think is HOW COULD you hurt someone so helpless that loves you so much.. Hopefully the situation is handled asap!

Ive never been but i hear its sooo much fun.. My went to tulane and loved it there.. have you tried googling? Or is something specifically planned already?

Aw, very sorry to hear about the child at your school - that has got to be trying on you emotionally That was VERY sweet of FH and he is right, you need/deserve this little break!

I am so sorry to hear about the child.. I wouldnt be able to deal with that.. hopefully the situation works out sooner or later in the best interest of the child.

ahhh Donna! Working in a school myself, I know what you mean. Just know that you ARE doing everything you can and sometimes, it's just beyond our control, which is SO frustrating, especially when it comes to an abusive situation.

ENJOY THAT TRIP! It'll give you time you need to focus on having some fun and de-stressing, which is so important.

In the meantime, it's great that you're keeping up with the gym!! It's so easy to let that go to the way side and i'm so guilty of that! Keep up your motivation!!

Donna... I know how stressful it is when you find out a child is abused.. Those are the calls I hate to get when the school districts find out. Unfortunately there is a lot of red tape but I always try to tell myself that they are the professionals and there must be a reason that they take so long.

New Orleans was a lot of fun the last time we went. The strip was a blast.

So sorry you are stressed out, it sounds like you are dealing with alot!! I've been stressed myself for various reasons, its tough! And I'm sending prayers your way for you and your student.

So glad you have something to look forward to!! That always helps me when I'm stressed!! I've never been to New Orleans but I've always wanted to go!!!

you need to enjoy that trip!

I loved NOLA! Loved it so much! If you want a really nice brunch, head to Court of Two Sisters. You wont regret it.
