Exciting!

So FH and I just finished our epic shoot. I was soooo much fun and can't wait to show everyone the pics!!!

But afterwards, FH's parents sat us down and told us that they are going to throw us an engagement party. I am in complete shock because they have done so much for us in the whole wedding process. I just hope that they don't feel obligated to throw us a party.

My parents were originally going to organize the engagement party but due to my father's salary cut, my parents couldn't afford to have it so I figured we just wouldn't have one.

But FMIL and FFIL really want to throw us one and I'm typing this as tears come down my face because I am so grateful to have these amazing people in my life.

I really dont know the deal with an engagement party. Like people give money? Do I create a little registry for people to buy gifts from? I need a little help!!

We had an e-party in April and we made a small registry for it because FH's family didn't want to give money. I'd say overall it was 50/50 with gifts and money.

I havn't had an eparty, but I would agree...make a small registry because people will always want to get gifts.

That is soooo sweet - congrats on the pics and the party.

We had a big e-party and didnt register. THEY say you shouldnt register b/c technically you arent supposed to give gifts at e-parties. In the end its totally up to you. We chose not to register b/c 1 - we have no place to put all the stuff and 2 - we dont need it yet so it was more important for us to recieve cash since it would be put to immediate use (if we got anything at all since we didnt expect people to provide us gifts).

It's really what you guys feel comfortable doing - but enjoy it either way!!!!
