Sooooo Friday is here yet again and that in itself is wonderful FH and I are going to check out Lombardis on the Bay and Crest Hollow tomorrow!!! First step in my wedding planning process We may even go to Timber Point on Sunday but there is an Allstar Hockey game on (God forbid FH misses anything hockey) so idk if it will happen. I am actually kind of nervous, I'm not too sure on what types of questions to ask and really don't want to get pressured into anything this soon. I also called my Church (Saint Raphael's in East Meadow) to see what dates they have available and they have yet to return my call I was just going to good 'questions to ask while booking a venue' but I figured I had a better shot asking the Pros on here Thanks in advance ladies!!!

Re: Exciting
I would ask things like:
Is there a valet - if yes, is there a fee? Are linens included? Can guests arrive a little early for hospitality hour? Is it wheelchair accessible? Do guests get a champagne toast upon arrival? How many entree options do guests have? Is there more than 1 wedding here? What time can I arrive to take pictures? Do I have access to the whole property for pics if there are multiple weddings occurring? Is the cake included? etc. etc.
Most of these questions they will probably answer w/o even having to ask - as you visit a few you will start to ask about things that you may not have thought about before! Good luck and have fun!!! Oh - and don't be afraid to ask for extras/negotiate! A simple, 'we were really hoping to stay under $X or have X food at cocktail hour'' is usually all they need to throw in some good extras!!!

Re: Exciting
I will FM you the huge list I had. Some of the questions on the list were answered b/f I asked them and some were good to ask anyway.

Re: Exciting
Have fun and good luck!!!! Everyone is different if what they ask or look at on these RH searching trips. IMO, We basically went and saw a few places and when we found that WOW place...we went back and asked more questions and then did a tasting. Enjoy youself, and get a feel for the places. Your gonna have a blast.

Re: Exciting
Just have fun. I wasn't sure what to ask either when I first went in and honestly some of the places you will know right away if you like it or not. You will also think of questions as you are seeing more things. Some good questions to ask are:
*parking - valet included *cocktail hour - how much seating/tables? enough for *everyone, 1/2 the guests *difference in price b/w fri, sat day, sat night, sun *minimum guarantee for fri, sat day, sat night, sun *linens *menu *is it one waiter per table, or one per two tables, are there separate drink waiters *is the cake included? *is there a cake cutting fee? *how long is the CH, Dinner, how much to add time
Honestly, ASK FOR EVERYTHING it is easier to get it thrown in before booking then after. Also it never hurts to ask for what you want.

Yaaay! That sounds so fun!! All the questions the girls posted earlier are the questions we asked. Most of the time the person showing you around will answer them all before you ask anyway. Have fun and I hope you find some place you love!!

Re: Exciting
St. Raphael's is my parish too! I went to the elementary school there. :) I am actually planning to get married at St. Barnabas in Bellmore though.
