excitment--- then depression

So Saturday was a big wedding planning day, we had plans to meet with Absolute entertainment and meet with the priest at my home town church, St. Barnabas in Bellmore--- The DJ was amazing, he came recommended by 2 family members, we attended two weddings they did, loved them, met with them and put a deposit down= EXCITMENT!

Then we went to the church, met with father Valentine, looked through all the books he showed me my baptism papers, communion papers and confirmation papers! Was aammmazing- then he went to check the date, October 22, 2011 and it was not available= DEPRESSION!

Now I am on the hunt for a Catholic church in Nassau County-- im getting married in Stewart Manor, but live in Bellmore. If anyone knows and could recommend a church you would be amazzzingg!!!

I had the same exact thing happen to me last week!! After leaving a deposit at our RH we met with the priest at my church only to find out our date was booked up with communions! Our priest was kind of upset that we didn't book with them first and I felt bad. We have a back up church that we are meeting with this week. If you get married out of your parish, you just have to get a release letter from your church stating they allow you to get married in another church.

I hope everything works out!

Also- St. Agnes in Rockville Centre is gorgeous!!!

I second that

I got married at St. Raphael's just over a a month ago and it was beautiful That's not my hometown church either, but they were very welcoming from the minute we walked in.

my church! st. catherines on hempstead turnpike and new hyde park road ... its beautiful inside! both fh and my parents were married there .. and its been our church since we were little

im getting married at st thomas apostle on westminster road in franklyn square...i live right over there and im actually having my engagement party at the stewart mannor...the church is beautiful and about 10 min away from your reception hall...
