excursions in maui?

We're going to maui next week and want to plan a few things before hand since we've been a$$ed out of a few for waiting to long in kauai. We're already doing the zipline tour on saturday so that's out. Any other recommendations would be much appreciated. If it helps, we're staying at the fairmont. TIA

We did the snorkeling cruise to Molokini, and thought it was highly overrated! We had been snorkeling in Mexico, and it was much better there. I was told that there was excellent snorkeling at the Black Rock at the Sheraton on Kaanapali Beach -- if you are staying on that stretch of beach, snorkel there.

I took a surfing Lesson at the Westin at Kaanapali Beach, it was amazing!

I loved ziplining, but I did it in Kauai!

Buy sushi at safeway to eat in your room. Its the only affordable food, and its sooo good! Seriously, there is a sushi chef at the supermarket!

Save some time to just chill out on the beach and enjoy -- its beautiful!

Have fun! I'm jealous!

go to Haleakala your first day there, you will have to get up and get going at 3 am....do it while your jet lag is still fresh.
There is a sunrise restaurant I had banana pancakes at afterward.
I liked the 'feast at Lele' as well.

I have had the fortunate pleasure of going to Maui many times. Best snorkeling on the island is at Kapalua. However for excursions try the Trilogy trip to Lanai. Its all day, but its a lot of fun, good snorkeling, and twice on it I have seen dolphins right up next to the boat.

The trilogy trip to lanai is great. also, do the road to hana drive. I also recommend a plantation tour. A luau is kind of a must see...but i thought the food was terrible
