Exercise.. The dreaded work out.

Exercise.. The dreaded work out.

I think I have the opposite gene when it comes to working out. I feel like crap after I work out. I do not feel that oh so bouncy, so much energy feeling that most people do. I'm happy that I actually completed the workout but it puts me in a not so happy mood.

Anybody else get like this after working out or am I alone?

You are not alone. Whenever I work out the first thing I want to do afterwards is crawl in bed

Maybe you just need to find something that you truely enjoy doing? I loooooooove Pilates. I tried yoga and it's not something I can often do...because it's hard for me to get into that zone...and if I'm not in the mood for it, then I just get irritated and frustrated.

If you find something you really love to do, and mix in some stuff you don't enjoy, that helps. I like most of the machines at my gym but I am not a fan of the elliptical...so I'll do the elliptical, get that over with, and then work out on machines that I like or take a class I enjoy.

For a normal person (not me lol) that would be good advice!! I just HATE working out. Passionately HATE it. lol

I do love yoga though!!

I agree its def about what you like. I loooove dancing. And can prob burn more calories doign that than anything else, but it never feels like 'woking out' because I'm having fun. Maybe try some classes and see if something catches your attention!!

Seriously, I was the same exact way. Then my WW leader gave me a pep talk about exercise...how you don't have to do traditional exercises all the time. Things like throwing around a frisbee, walking on the beach, rollerblading, walking a dog, taking the stairs instead of an elevator...all that stuff does add up. It's movement, it's activity, it's not sitting around doing nothing, and that's what matters.

Now I'm at the gym a few times a week. It wasn't something that I jumped into head-first. I did a lot of workout DVDs at home and went for long walks...the walks turned into running, and the DVDs got boring so I wanted to join a gym that offered classes I liked.

You'll find your niche. You like yoga? Try different types!

ok, exercise is LITERALLY the bane of my existence. there's nothing that i hate more. however, i disagree about the feeling afterwards. i do usually feel good when i finish. however, by the next day when i am considering going again, i never remember (btw, the only reason i can even SAY this is because i got back from the gym 2 seconds ago!!).
