exfoliant/make up question

exfoliant/make up question

Ladies,

This winter has really been killing my skin... my face gets so flaky, especially my nose and forehead.... no matter how much moisturizer i use before applying make up and after, the flakes are back in a matter of minutes.... it's driving me CRAZY.... even when I had a makeup trial the girl was like 'the make up is going to cake up on your nose because it's flaking, so i'm just going to leave it'....

I cant be the only one with this problem... well, i hope not... but those of you who swear by a moisturizer or exfoliant, please share with me :)

My skin has been so incredibly dry also. I started using a philosophy moisturizer 'when hope is not enough' (you can get it at sephora or at qvc.com). It has helped me a lot. My skin still gets dry occasionaly but it has helped me so much.

Dermalogica Barrier Repair.

www.dermalogica.com. Swear by it! They sell it at varius Cactus salons. Use it every night and you will notice a difference. It's silicone based. Won't break you out, either.

I probably have the worst skin in the world, but you would never know it. My secret? Dr. Donna Serure of Smithtown's LaserDerm Dermatology Clinic. Her number is (631) 979-0909. She is the head of the practice and it's located on East Main Street.
Seriously, I would look like Frankenstein if it was not for this woman! The exfoliant, acne medication (b/c I have that problem too!), and moisturizer I use all need a perscription and she looked at me and was able to figure out exactly what I needed.
She accepts most insurances. If she does not accept your insurance she will still see you for dirt cheap and at least look at your skin and tell you what over the counter products you can buy that will help.
She is the kindest, most caring person. She saved my social life!! LOL, I can't say enough about her. Everyone's skin is different, this way, she can look at your face and decide what YOU need b/c it could be different from the next person. Looking for a quick fix until you see her (don't let them book you with anyone else if you go b/c she is the best, she books up in advance, it is worth the wait.) but I do highly recommend Aveeno products and Neutrogena. They are very kind to the skin. Take care and GOOD LUCK!!

Thats so funny I was just complaining about the same problem today! My skin is constantly dry and flaking. When I went to the clinique counter they told me it was because my skin was oily or something adn I needed an exfoliant, made no sense. Your not alone with the dry skin!

Donna is great; I actually like Dr. Malerba better but I agree; the practice is wonderful! Dr. Malerba removed some alarming beauty marks from me this summer.
