Expedia room upgrade

OMG never hurts to ask! We booked our second week honeymoon for aruba. we booked the basic room b/c we wouldnt be staying in it that much were stayin at Occidental Grand Aruba. So i called expedia and asked how much an upgrade would be, they told us we could upgrade to theroom category thats right under suite status and they would have to refund us money!!!! I said ok well take the upgrade We get free in couple room massage, dinner on beach, breakfast in bed, champagen and strawberries in room. OMG so excited

Yay!!!

That's sooo awesome! We stayed there last week. When we asked for breakfast in bed they said they didn't do it, even though it was included in our honeymoon package. We raised hell.

How did you ask for the upgrade? I know that you can tell the hotel as you're checking in, but I'd rather have all of that stuff set before we walk in the door.

I dont even know we booked 2 months ago and i just didnt want a reg room ive always usually stayed in higher grade rooms so i figured for my hm shouldnt be any diff. So i called and asked how much would an upgrade be and thats when the lady told me. I guess maybe the price had dropped or something? But i was able to upgrade all the way up until i got to the suites they were 1k to upgrade so i stopped there and they refunded us some of our money.. If you booked with expedia and lets say your hm is weeks away or months i would keep calling and checking with them cuz you just never know!

Awesome!!! We just had something similar with our cruise happen, we got a bigger room, and got refunded money as well!!!!
