Experience at Bridgeview Yacht Club or East Wind Caterers?
A few months ago we booked our reception at East Wind Caterers - without any referrals. Since then, we've been hearing some really scathing reviews about both the service and food. We're now thinking of loosing our deposit and switching to the Bridgeview Yacht Club. I know their food is good but don't know anyone who has had a wedding experience there - which worries me. Has anyone been to (or had) a wedding here?? Please let me know, it would really help me out!!

I went to a wedding there in 7/00. I had heard very good things about it before that, but honestly it was an average wedding. There are two areas to have the reception, the country garden and the plain one. the garden one is beautiful, the other room is nice and clean. i think it all depends on what you are willing to put into the reception.. but the place was nice, not a horrible place. i really think its what you put into the reception that makes it great, and the people who attend also. i hope this helps a little.

East Wind Caterers
I'm getting married at East Wind Caterers (the Estate) on this upcoming Saturday, so I'll let you know how it goes! I've heard a lot of really great things about it and I know a couple of people who have gone to weddings there and liked it a lot. As for the food - why not go for a food tasting? We did that and my family all loved it. Lots of luck to you!

We are getting married at the East Wind Estate too. I have not been there myself but I have heard so many good things from family and friends. My cousin was there 3 times last year for different things and each time she said it was great. Also the chef is from Harrison House so he is very good. Your not going to make everyone happy no matter where you go so just make sure your happy. Do the tastings at both places and see which you like better. Good luck!

Another Eastwind Estate bride here (11-4) I have been to the showcase 2x and I thought the food was great. PLus the staff seems very accomadating, the price was right and the grounds are nice. Worth checking out!

I went to a wedding at East Wind Caterers and I thought it was beautiful. I would stick with that one. Bridgeview I have only seen pictures but it doesn't look as nice as East Wind. We are getting married at the Milleridge which is similar style to East Wind. You should check that out if you really want to switch.

Congrats!! Everyone!!
I have just booked for July 6th 2003, at EastWind in The Estate. It`s a bit more expensive than country gardens but country gardens felt a little small. We are expecting about 125-130 people so i figured...let me just check out the estate. Well i fell in love with it! And it`s set up much nicer.
There is no walk from cocktail hour to dinner like in country gardens. (My mom is parinoid about 'What if it rains!!')
I found it a bit weird that the bridal suite is downstairs in the cocktail room...what if during the reception you need to bustle (sp.) your dress, fix your make-up, etc. You gotta walk all the way over there??
Also the cocktail room only holds max. 90 people seated. Which means if it rains, some of your guests will be standing. Not a great idea.
And i didnt like the idea of the dance floor being at the 'top' of the room and all the tables below it. People then have to squeeze through tables to get to the bar/bathroom/dance floor.
I love the Estates bridal suite..HUGE.
And i felt where we are having the ceremony outside has a nicer atmosphere.
I am having an outside ceremony, cocktail hour and i picked the SitDown dinner and added on the dessert table.
Which saved us $2000 from the Premier Dinner.
Is anyone else getting married in July at EastWind? I would love to hear other brides experiences with EastWind.
I wish everyone the best!
.danielle.

my best friends sister got married there 9/11/99 (that's some anniversary, huh?) and it was very nice. I don't remember the food (ever, after a few weeks, at any wedding!) but the place was very pretty and it was cool that people could go outside and the water was pretty, etc. good luck!

I don't know about Bridgeview, but I've heard of at least 7-8 different weddings at East Wind, and all said it was unbelievable-food included! The worst thing I heard was that is was too far east - but that's not a bad worst review. I believe in them enough that I will most likely pick the Estate at East Wind.

Hey
I am a Bridgeview Bride to Be
Unfortunately I haven't ever been a guest at a wedding there, but personal friends have, and anyone who has been RAVES about it.
Kathy and Scott have been great to work with We tasted the food twice and it was awesome
If you can wait until after 5/25, I can give you a (glowing) review

Re: Experience at Bridgeview Yacht Club or East Wind Caterers?
I had my Wedding at the Estate at East Wind in August and the food and service were excellent—everybody raved about the place. the only thing I wasn't happy about was I felt they started cleaning up a little early as they had to turn the room around for the night wedding.
But you have nothing to worry about the food. Whether the wedding is good or not depends a lot on crowd and the band/DJ, too.
I also went to a Wedding at the Cottage last year and the food and sevice were just as good as the Estate.
The Inn is new, so I'd be curious to hear if anyone's been to a wedding there yet.

I am also a Bridgeview bride and have heard nothing but rave reviews. My mom knows several people who have been to weddings there and had great things to say. I had my tasting and the food was awesome, to say the least.
Good luck

i'm also a Bridgeview bride - 12/27/03- I picked the place because I used to work at South Nassau and and our x-mas party was there - it was fabulous! and they had it decorated so beautiful!!
So far Kathy has been great - which is VERY important because i'm planning this wedding from California!

I went to a wedding at East Wind - - it was very nice. The food was good, atmosphere nice and the place was pretty. You're always going to get someone that has a bad experience or just a bad day, don't listen. Your wedding is as wonderful as the people you have invited to it. Boring crowd, boring time, wild crowd, wild time. Don't second guess yourself. Good luck.
