EXTREME exhaustion

EXTREME exhaustion

has anyone experienced this?

I just got a new mattress, so I know it's nothing to do with that - I sleep great during the night, but every day lately, I am severely exhausted - I mean, fighting to keep my eyes open by 9pm. It hurts to keep my eyes open. And then I feel groggy all day. I have been taking a daily vitamin, etc - but I have never felt like this.

DH was getting mad at me for falling asleep so early every night until I told him this was not normal and I need to see a dr! I usually get to work around 8 am and work til 6 but I never have felt this tired.

I've been feeling like this lately. Dh wants me to go get some bloodwork done.

But, I've been forgetting to take my vitamins and I'm low carbing so I think thats it. At least I hope so...

I was JUST going to post about this. You're reading my mind! I'm always tired. I thought it was from lack of sleep, or just from having to wake up early every morning (I'm not a morning person), but even on the weekends, after getting a lot of sleep, I'm STILL tired. I could lay down for a nap every day.
It's not good when you're stuck in meetings that last for 2 + hours and you're yawning and fighting to stay awake.
I take my vitamins, exercise, eat right (so I think), but I'm still so darn sleepy. I just wish I had more energy
Meanwhile, FH is like a hyper child - he's always bouncing off the walls..... he thinks there's something wrong with me!

You poor thing. I suggest you see your PCP and ask him what the deal is- maybe get some blood work done to make sure everything is OK. Maybe spend this weekend lounging around in your PJs or something and get as much sleep as you need as see how that makes you feel?

thanks girls (and my buddy Sassy! )

I need to see the dr - I was thinking maybe I need some more physical exercise to keep my energy level up...

I was going to suggest a visit to the doctor for some bloodwork. I was like that when I had some problems with my thyroid.

Hope you are all feeling better soon

Wacky, you just took the words out of my mouth! With it getting darker earlier, and waking up in the dark, it throws me off too.

You should get some blood work done just to calm your nerves and make sure everything is ok...

Feel better!

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

Any chance any of you experiencing this are pregnant? I know quite a few women who experienced exhaustion like that before they realized they were pregnant and for a while during their first trimester.

I'm ALWAYS tired, but that's because I don't sleep well and require caffeine to wake up (and stay awake) everyday. I know how you feel - it stinks. Definitely see a doctor to make sure everything's OK, otherwise, try changing your diet a little or take a multi-vitamin.

What about sleep apnea? or some other sleeping disorder? You may think you're sleeping through the night, but you might not be.

Good luck in finding your answers...

I also feel tired ALL the time. I feel like I never get enough sleep. I am not a morning person i have to drag myself out of bed every morning.

Its funny though b/c I feel so much better when I leave work at 5. So maybe its work dragging me down!

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

I get this sometimes, too. I've actually had blood work and everything and it always comes back fine.

It's a real crushing fatigue....like someone took all the bones out of my body. It's not so much a sleepy feeling, but more a physical body-tired. Mentally, I feel alert, but physically, it's like I'm dragging around an anvil. It's a 'scarey' tired that makes you wonder, 'hey, what's wrong with me???'

I tend to notice it....

When I'm under a lot of stress or have been very upset about something.

Just before or after a migraine.

PMS time.

Hope everyone's feeling better soon!!

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

I hear ya!! lately, I have just been so overwhelmed with stuff going on and everything needs to be done ASAP and I am completely run down. I am in bed by 9, which is not normal for me. I am under extreme pressure with school, work and all this wedding stuff needing to get done that I just want to run away. I actually took half a day today so I could just go to the bank because I have not had time lately. My FH doesn't get the pressure I am under so he looks at me like I am crazy when I am in bed at 9:00.

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

That happened to me a few months ago. No matter how much I slept, I ALWAYS felt so exhausted and run down. I am anemic so I thought maybe that had something to do with it but I am usually conscious about getting enough iron in my diet. It ended up just going away after a week or so. Just to ease your mind, I would get the blood work done. Maybe you are slightly anemic. Do you tend to get light-headed easily???

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

I get liek that sometimes! Going to your doctor and getting a shot of Vitamin B helps!

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

I agree with the vitamin recommendations.

I take a B-complex with Zinc called Stresstabs every day. It really makes a difference. I also take extra folic acid (800 mcg a day), just in case I get prego, and 400 Vitamin E, and Omega-3s. I'm like a walking pill factory!!

I don't get the fatigue very often anymore, so something must be working.

Good luck!

Re: EXTREME exhaustion

Ask to have your thyroid tested. That is what I went through before I was diagnoised with Hypothyroidism. It was an exhaustion that I could never put into words. I would wake up as tired as I was when I went to sleep.
