Ok this is kinda wedding related in the sense that I need to get my eyebrows done bc i'm going to a wedding on saturday, lol. Will I be less red if I get them threaded as opposed to waxed? And can anyone suggest a good place to go? I'd be going right from work, and I work in Hauppauge, right by the LIE. TIF

Re: Eyebrow Threading?
I thread my eyebrows every week...Threading will def. make it less red. I have very sensitive skin and the redness goes away in just a few minutes. Unfortunatley I only know places in Queens. Since most Indians do threading, I'm sure there are tons of threading salons in Hicksville. You could ask someone in the 'Desi Bride' thread? Hope I helped!

There is a good place in Commack (not too far from hauppauge) called Nina's. It's in a shopping center on commack road. She does a great job!

threading is less painless than tweezing.... no redness or buring

I never get red after threading, I did however when I used to wax. I go to the Aveda salon at the Queens Mall, so I'm not help on where to go. Sorry.

Re: Eyebrow Threading?
I go to a small salon in NYC. I've been to a bunch of places with a bunch of people...I don't think I've ever seen BAD results.
It does hurt, but redness and irritation is MUCH less than with waxing (I can't wax my sensitive eye-area).

Re: Eyebrow Threading?
I think I went to one in Hicksville. I've never gotten them waxed before so I can't really compare but I thought it was so painful..haven't gone back since!

Re: Eyebrow Threading?
Is threading supposed to be permanent, or is it like waxing where you have to keep going back?

Yea you have to keep going back - not permanent - most people go once or twice a month. Also, if you're willing to travel - there's this place on hillside avenue in nassau/queens border - called Mehak - they do a great job - FM me for more info.
